READERS' CLUB
LIBRARY OF NAM CAN THO UNIVERSITY
To contribute to the development of the Library as well as to enhance the quality of service for readers, and to meet the needs of some readers who wish to participate in library activities beyond just research and study. Based on these mutual interests, the Library has been permitted by the University's leadership to establish the Readers' Club (Readers' Club) of Nam Can Tho University Library.
As a member of the Readers' Club, you will be prioritized to participate in events organized by the library such as the annual "Readers’ Conference." You will also take part in social activities—for instance, during the 2020 Tet holiday, members of the Readers' Club visited and gave gifts to underprivileged students and lonely elderly people in Phong Dien district.
As a member of the Readers' Club, you can unleash your creativity by crafting handmade products based on your ideas (materials will be provided by the Library). The finished products will be displayed at the library, and if they are well-received, the Library will plan to promote them to a wider student audience for support.
As a member of the Readers' Club, you can submit short writings to share your perspectives on life, the world, or student experiences. Selected articles will be published on the “Reflection Corner” of the Library’s website.
As a member of the Readers' Club, you will receive basic training in library operations to support the Library’s professional activities. You’ll find it interesting to engage in this work while still studying at the university.
Benefits of being a Readers’ Club member: students will have borrowing priority with more books, longer loan periods, and permission to borrow reference books (usually restricted to in-library use) under the list of special privileges. Additionally, active participants in the Club’s activities will receive conduct point certifications from the Library, which will be sent to the Student Affairs Department each semester.
The Readers' Club was officially established on December 31, 2019. Since its founding, the Club has hosted meaningful activities and has attracted an increasing number of students to join. The Readers' Club has created a fresh atmosphere for the Library, serving as a fun and enriching playground where students can meet, make friends, gain knowledge, relax, and develop essential skills while fostering solidarity and teamwork.
